Where in the World Are Bubbles' Cards Coming From?

Looks like a boring title for a blog post untttiiiiillll you say it to the tune of “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago?” Then it’s an awesome title for a blog post! Remarkable how well those words fit the tune.  By the way, my impression of Ms. Sandiego was a rather wholesome one involving a computer game and kids learning about geography while gathering clues. A Google image search was, um, enlightening. She's a rather racy lady as it turns out.

Anywho…. I’ve been jotting down country names as people mention that they will ask someone here or there and I thought it’d be worth sharing. If you’re inspired, pull out a map and see if you know someone in a country we haven’t gotten to yet. Then comment to let us know what country or countries you’re playing for. The goal is 25 countries, but I’m thinking we might need to up it—we’ll see.  Oh, to pick a number! (Update 2 hours later: Double or nothing! We doubled the card count goal to 2,000 this morning and now we're going for at least 50 countries. People are amazing!)

For now, we have confirmations or strong leads on:
Australia
The Bahamas
Brazil
Bulgaria
Canada
China
Cuba
Ethiopia
Finland
France
Germany
Hong Kong
Hungary
India
Indonesia
Japan
Korea (South?)
The Netherlands
Poland
Singapore*
Sweden
Switzerland

We’re working on contact with people in:
Egypt
England
The Grenadines
Italy
Timor
Other places that I don't know y'all know people!

*Note: The card from Singapore is one that my college roommate is planning to find a way to mail in the airport on her way from India to the US. Using layovers to up our country count— I love that! Thanks, roomie!

Where are you playing for?

  1. Got confirmations on Nicaragua and Italy as well as additional cards from a number of the countries listed above. Time to double country count goal. We're now going for at least 2,000 cards from at least 50 countries!

And remember, it doesn't matter if they're late. I think cards trickling in even through summer would be hilarious.
